Disability Services
The Office of Student Disability Services assists Marywood University in ensuring that qualified students with disabilities are afforded and given access to the same or equal educational opportunities available to other University students, as mandated by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as amended by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. Students with disabilities are eligible for reasonable accommodations, provide an equal opportunity for students to obtain the same level of achievement as their non-disabled peers while maintaining the standards of excellence at Marywood University. The Office of Disability Services facilitates individualized support, advising, advocacy, and accommodations to every qualified student. Fellowships
There are a variety of scholarships and fellowships that fund graduate study in the United States and abroad for students who meet the appropriate eligibility criteria. Office of Military and Veteran Services
The Office of Military and Veteran Services assists members of the military, veterans, and their families throughout their academic journey at Marywood University. ROTC cadets are encouraged to utilize the services and resources offered by the office. Staff provide guidance regarding veterans’ educational benefits and certify enrollment each semester to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as required. In addition, Marywood hosts a student organization for Veterans and First Responders called Heart for Heroes, which provides peer connection and service opportunities. Eligible students may participate in SALUTE Veteran’s National Honor Society
Compliance with Title 38 Code of Federal Regulations
Marywood University ("the University") complies with the requirements of Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations section 3679(e) in the administration of educational benefits to covered individuals. A covered individual is any individual who is entitled to educational assistance under chapter 31, Veteran Readiness and Employment, or Chapter 33, Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.
The University permits any covered individual to attend or participate in a course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the University:
- A Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for entitlement to educational assistance under chapter 31 or 33;
- A statement of benefits; or
- Verification of eligibility through VA Enrollment Manager;[1]
And ending on the earlier of:
1. The date on which payment from the Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA) is made to the University; or
2. 90 days after the date the University certified tuition and fees following the receipt of the required documentation.
The University will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, the Learning Commons (Library), or other institutional facilities, and will not require that a covered individual borrow additional funds to meet his or her financial obligations to the University due to the delayed disbursement of funding from the VA under chapter 31 or 33.
Military-affiliated students, including active duty service members, veterans, spouses, and dependent children, are afforded priority registration in academic courses to ensure they can enroll in the classes they need to complete their degree or certificate programs in a timely manner. This priority is provided in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and is intended to support educational success and career readiness for those who serve and their families.
Tutoring Center
The Marywood University Tutoring Center, located on the second floor of the Learning Commons, is an academic resource center and a general study space and lounge. Equipped with computer workstations, whiteboards, and office supplies, the area welcomes both individual study and collaborative group work. Students are paired for course tutoring upon requesting through a Google Form. For anyone seeking tutoring in Math or Science, students may book individual or small group appointments through our LibCal scheduling platform. All tutoring options allow students to select in person or virtual appointments.
Writing Center
The Writing Center offers individual consultation to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral level students. The Center supports writers at any stage of the writing process; prewriting, drafting, proofreading, or revising; however, the Center does not provide asynchronous editing or proofreading and works on an appointment basis. Students may book an appointment with a peer or professional writing consultant using the LibCal scheduling platform, and all options allow students to select in person or virtual appointments.
The Office of Career Services
Career Services is here to support graduate students as they advance, pivot, or specialize in their careers. We work with graduate students to refine their professional goals and position themselves for the next step, whether that’s career advancement, a career change, or further academic study. Support includes resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, networking strategies, and guidance on navigating competitive job markets.
Graduate students can use the Pacer Career Portal to search for opportunities, register for events, and manage their career development progress. Focus2 Career is also available for deeper self-assessment and career exploration, especially for those considering a shift in direction. Throughout the year, we connect graduate students with employers and professionals through targeted events, recruitment opportunities, and networking experiences designed to support career growth.
