GEOL 102 Inner Solar System Geology

Designed for non-majors, this course is a general survey of basic earth science and planetary science topics. Students will be introduced to basic concepts of geology, rocks and minerals, historical, geology, plate tectonics, scale and formation of the solar system, and basic motions of the earth, plus celestial bodies, planetary geology, and contemporary planetary science missions. Focus will be placed on laboratory techniques and procedures as well as investigative skills to solve science-related problems. Field and lab work will involve investigations of geology sites and a planetarium demonstration.
