FIN 415 Financial Institutions and Services

The course introduces the student to financial institutions from the perspectives of the financial analyst and corporate finance manager. The student will become familiar with the financial services offered to the public and with the financial, operational, and organizational aspects of the institution. Topics may vary but will usually include asset and liability management, investment and commercial banking, non-bank financial firms, mergers, acquisitions and capital market financial instruments and derivative securities. The course will include expert speakers from financial institutions, applied cases and computer-based projects.
