BIOL 340 Toxicology

This course examines the relationships between toxins and organisms on a molecular, cellular and whole animal level. General concepts of toxicology/pharmacology will be covered and related to laboratory experiments and readings in the scientific literature. The laboratory portion of this course introduces methods for detecting toxic responses in organisms including dose response curves, as well as spectrophotometry, electrophoresis, enzyme assays, chemical analysis, cell culture and immunochemistry.
