EDUC 181 Principles of Mathematics for Teachers II
The course is designed to provide pre-service middle-childhood teachers with a deeper understanding of the mathematics they will teach. It will address the fundamental mathematical skills that the pre-service teacher should have and the basic mathematical concepts, principles, and procedures the pre-service teacher should know in order to teach the mathematics to middle-childhood students at the different grade levels. The course will emphasize the why of those skills, concepts, principles, and procedures; and methods to present that why understanding to students.
