CSCI 370 Computer & Network Security

This course introduces the fundamental principles and topics of Computer and Network Security. Students will learn critical security principles that enable them to plan, develop, and perform security tasks. The course will address hardware, software, processes, communications, applications, policies and procedures with respect to organizational security and risk management. The central problems faced by security designers and security administrators will be examined. These problems include: defining threats to computer and network systems, evaluating the relative risks of these threats, and developing cost-effective and user-friendly countermeasures.
