ENGL 320 Introduction to Linguistics

The bases of the scientific study of language: the sounds that make up human languages (phonetics), the combining of sounds (phonology), the structuring of words (morphology), and the structuring of sentences (syntax), and the derivation of meaning from words, sentences, and texts (semantics).
