STM 499 Senior Capstone
Students initiate a team‑based project for an external client such as a ministry, nonprofit, or small business. Students conduct discovery, elicit requirements, create architecture and project plans, and perform ethical impact and risk analysis. Teams may propose AI‑enabled features when appropriate, documenting data needs, safety constraints, and human‑in‑the‑loop controls. Students implement, test, secure, deploy, and evaluate the capstone solution while managing change requests and quality gates. Students create documentation, user training materials, and a maintenance handoff plan for sustainability. If AI components are present, students conduct usability and safety testing, monitor for performance/drift, and assess local/global impact, accessibility, and ethical stewardship.
