ENT 620 Entrepreneurial Finance

Basic concepts of finance will be applied to theentrepreneurial venture, beginning with companystart-up and concluding with the "harvest."Entrepreneurial decisions and alternatives areanalyzed in terms of their effect of firm value.The central focus of the course is to gain anunderstanding of the financing of entrepreneurialventures, including ways investors identify andcommit the necessary resources to create andfinance ventures. Lectures, in-depth discussions,and cases are used to address specific conceptsand skills relevant to developing and financing anew venture. These concepts will include:evaluating the opportunity, financing the venture,valuing the emerging company, and harvesting theventure by selling it or going public.
