DSIM 415 Management Science
Prerequisites: DSIM 201 and DSIM 305. This courseintroduces students to the theory and applicationsof optimization. Optimization can prescribe betterdecisions instead of just showing insights derivedfrom data. We focus on how these types of analyseshelp businesses create value and sustain highperformance throughout their operations, for bothproducts, and services. A variety of quantitativetechniques, which are widely used by managers toenhance decision- making will be covered. Topicsto be covered include linear programming and someof its most common applications in manufacturing,transportation, marketing, finance, etc., as wellas, integer programming, network optimizationmodels, queuing models, and data envelopmentanalysis.
