Aviation Maintenance Technology – Airframe Technology Associate in Applied Science
This program prepares students to take the Federal Aviation Administration written, oral, and practical examinations required for certification as an aviation maintenance technician with an airframe endorsement. Graduates earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Airframe Technology. Note that AAS degree, certificate, and short-term certificate programs are not designed to be transfer programs.
Requirements
Area I: Written Composition
Select 3 credit hours from:
ENG 131: Students who intend to transfer into a baccalaureate degree program should take ENG 101. ENG 131 is a Code C course, which is not designed for transfer credit but is more applicable to Airframe Technology.
Area II: Humanities and Fine Arts
Select 3 credit hours from:
Area III: Natural Science and Mathematics
Select a Math 100 or above, MTH 116 is preferred.
Select at least 3 credit hours from 100 level or above courses in:
CMP 101 is preferred
Area IV: History, Social and Behavioral Sciences
Select 3 credit hours from:
Area V: General Education Core, Technical Concentration, and Electives

Although it is not a requirement for graduation, successful completion of the Aviation program's General and Airframe Comprehensive Exams is a requirement to be eligible for the FAA Written Exam and the FAA Oral and Practical Exam which leads to FAA certification. Students must register and pay the current examination fees prior to testing.
