A study of microbial biochemistry, molecular biology, morphology, physiology, metabolism, growth and growth control, taxonomy, diversity, genetics, evolution, ecology, and immunology with emphasis on bacteria and viruses. Topics in medical, food and industrial microbiology, and public health.
