Program Description

The Drafting & Design Technology program is a two-year technical program designed to give the student essential knowledge and skills required for efficient and productive performance in the drafting field. Central Louisiana Technical Community College grants a degree or diploma to students upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum and assists in placing students in gainful employment. Certificates are also offered for those needing a background in drafting without gaining all of the skills required for employment as a drafter.

 

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. The students will demonstrate the ability to produce a drawing using Geometric Construction (Examples: lines, circles, ellipses, and tangents.
  2. The students will identify the purpose, rules, and basis techniques used to dimension technical drawings and apply proper dimensions, notes, and symbols.
  3. The students will demonstrate the basic concepts of CADD, identify the graphic display & screen editor, and demonstrate basic CADD commands.
