LAW-6102 COPYRIGHT LAW

This class is designed to be a survey of legal issues associated with Copyright Law. The topics covered will include: (1) the definition of "original works of authorship"; (2) the definition of "fixed in a tangible medium of expression"; (3) what works are entitled to protection; (4) the bundle of rights granted to the copyright owner; (5) how to obtain a copyright; (6) the duration of copyright protection; (7) copyright infringement; and (8) defenses to copyright infringement actions, including fair use and parody.
