FREN 2382 Introduction to French Literature (in English)

FREN 2382 is a course on the cross-cultural tradition of Intimate French and Francophone Literature (from the Renaissance to the present) designed to focus on how beliefs, values, and other dimensions of culture explore and inevitably alter human experience. These diverse literary expressions are designed to provoke an exploration of ideas that foster in turn intellectual and aesthetic creation, thus provoking a more nuanced and profound understanding of the universal quest to make sense of the human condition.
