READ 6316 Reading in the Early Child through 6th Classroom

This course analyzes theories, issues, and culturally relevant instructional practices and assessments related to reading in the early childhood through 6th grade classroom to further investigate how students actively construct meaning and build and access background knowledge from fiction and nonfiction texts including multimodal texts across content areas. Critical analysis of reading comprehension, including assessment, fluency, vocabulary instruction, and digital literacies will be researched.
