SPED 4350 Assessing Exceptional Learners

This course focuses on knowledge and skills in assessing learners with exceptionalities. It provides a survey of the knowledge base related to appraisal in special education, including formal, norm-referenced testing and comprehensive coverage of informal, curriculum-based assessment. Response-to-intervention (RTI) models of service delivery for struggling learners in inclusive classrooms and curriculum-based measures used to monitor the progress of students are also addressed.
