EECE 6316 Signal Integrity and Electromagnetic Compatibility

This course covers the analysis and mitigation of electromagnetic effects in high-speed digital circuits. The signal and power integrity portion of the course will include a brief review of Maxwell's equations, followed by transmission lines in the time domain, lattice diagrams, multiconductor lines and modal analysis, crosstalk, parasitics in printed circuits, power planes, bypassing, and principles for printed circuit layout. The electromagnetic portion of the course will include emissions standards and measurements, shielding and layout, clock dithering, and other techniques.
