HGEN 8320 Proposal Preparation and Grantsmanship

This course will cover the process of proposal development from the conception of the project through the development of an NIH-style application.  Topics to be covered include NIH grant mechanisms, NIH funding institutes, development of the biosketch, development of a project budget, generating specific aims for a project, articulating the project design, and organizing the research strategy.  Students will develop their dissertation proposals in this class with direction from the Ph.D. mentor.
