MINOR ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 

1. Must be enrolled in a major at UTRGV and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00. 

2. Students are recommended to have general biology background to understand about macronutrients, micronutrients and how the body produces energy with the food consumed. 

3. Students must fill out a secondary application to enter the minor in Nutrition program. The application form will be uploaded to the Nutrition tab under the Department of Health and Biomedical Sciences website https://www.utrgv.edu/hbs/index.htm.

MINOR PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS

Students must maintain a grade of "C" or above in all the minor requirement courses to remain in the program.

MINOR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Students must earn a minimum grade of ‘C’ in each NUTR course in the minor; however, a GPA of 3.0 must be achieved across all NUTR courses in the minor.
