Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Science
Engineering Technology is the profession in which knowledge of mathematics and natural science, gained by higher education, experience, and practice, is devoted primarily to the implementation and extension of existing technology for the benefit of humanity. Engineering Technology education focuses primarily on the applied aspects of science and that portion of the technological spectrum closest to product improvement, industrial practices, and engineering operational functions.

Core Curriculum Requirements – 42 Hours
Students must fulfill the Core Curriculum requirements. The courses listed below satisfy both degree requirements and Core Curriculum requirements.
Mathematics – 3 hours
Three credits hours from MATH 2413 or MATH 2487 will be applied here; the remaining one credit hour will be applied in the mathematics requirement of the major.
Life and Physical Sciences – 6 hours
PHYS 2425 | Physics for Scientists and Engineers I | 4 |
PHYS 2426 | Physics for Scientists and Engineers II | 4 |
Three credit hours from the lecture component of PHYS 2425 and PHYS 2426 will be applied towards this requirement.
Language, Philosophy, and Culture – 3 hours
Integrative and Experiential Learning – 6 hours
ENGL Requirement
Complete an additional three credit hour ENGL course from the core curriculum.
Science Labs
Complete the one-credit hour chemistry lab below and the one-credit hour lab component of
PHYS 2425 and PHYS 2426.
Major Requirements – 55 Hours (40 advanced)
Engineering Technology Core – 40 hours (25 advanced)
Required
Advanced Engineering Technology Electives – 15 hours (15 advanced)
Required
ENGT 3300 may be repeated to fulfill fifteen credit hours if topics vary.
Support Courses – 23 Hours
Required
One credit hour from MATH 2413 or MATH 2487 completed in the core curriculum will be applied to the mathematics requirement in the support courses.
