BFIN 370 Financial markets

The purpose of the course is to equip students with the knowledge of a financial system, its regulatory framework and environments in the UAE/GCC, and globally. The course covers financial markets: money markets as well as capital markets locally and around the globe. The international stock and bond markets shall be examined and compared to those in the UAE/GCC. The course also covers foreign exchange, derivatives and commodities markets internationally and in the UAE/GCC. The course goes over the institutional framework within the UAE/GCC, encompassing both banking and non?banking institutions. A comparative analysis of their functions, roles and impact on economic system is critically examined. The course is also intended to identify the regulatory compliance initiatives to ethical and prudential issues
