WELD 130 Math for Welders
This course is designed for welding students to learn and apply basic math skills. Students learn to perform measurements and calculations routinely used in the welding industry. Topics include place value, estimation, measurement, and the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions, decimals and mixed numbers. Student will perform hands-on welding-related practice problems to reinforce what they have learned. The practice problems are identical to the types of problems the students will be required to solve in a welding shop. In addition to learning basic math concepts, the course will give students a preview of the types of challenges they will face in a work environment.
