EDUC 472 Methods and Materials of Secondary Math
This course is designed to examine pedagogies and content delivery methods for math, grades 5-12, including specifically addressing national standards alongside Indigenous ways of teaching and learning. This course will cover preparation of coherent lessons and units, student learning assessment methodologies, use of assessments to guide teacher’s decision-making process, understanding the diverse needs of learners, and the role of mathematics teachers as educational professionals within professional organizations and the local community. The development of a unit plan will be a course and program assessment.
