Procedure for Having Official Documentation Submitted
TESU will only evaluate official transcripts. Faxed, scanned, emailed, unofficial, student copies and photocopies will not be evaluated.
The best way to have your official college transcripts sent to Thomas Edison State University is through one of the following secured electronic delivery systems.
If one of these services require an email address to send it, please use transcripts@tesu.edu. We do not accept transcripts sent by email as an attachment or through a service other than the ones mentioned above.
A secondary way you can have your transcripts sent to the University is by mail to the address below. Official transcripts should be mailed from the institution’s Registrar/Records Office directly to Thomas Edison State University. We will also accept official transcripts which have been sent to a student in a sealed envelope and then forwarded to us directly from the student. If it appears the envelope has been opened, we will not accept the transcript.

Please note: All Graduate applicants must submit an official transcript from the institution which awarded their baccalaureate degree.
- With the exception of official transcripts, all other documents in support of TESU PLRs (i.e., licenses and/or certificates) should be submitted using the Cover Sheet for Student Submission of TESU-Assessed Credentials.
Thomas Edison State University accepts and awards credit for many types of professional training, licenses and certificates, and different examination programs.

EXAMINATION PROGRAMS:
TESU awards credit for different college-level examination programs, such as DSST, CLEP, AP Exams, NYU Exams. An official transcript from the institution must be sent in order for credit to be awarded.

In most cases, a copy of the license/ certification (accompanied by the Student Submission of TESU-Assessed Credentials form) needs to be sent in order for credit to be awarded.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING REVIEWED BY ACE (American Council on Education) and NCCRS (National CCRS)
TESU also awards credit for professional training that has been reviewed by ACE and NCCRS.
TESU requires an official transcript for ACE-reviewed professional training, which as of November 2020, are provided through the Credly’s Acclaim Platform, and an official transcript from the credit-awarding organization for NCCRS-reviewed professional training.
TESU will not evaluate transcripts from other countries and there is no need to send them to us. The University will accept credit recommendations from a required course-by-course evaluation completed by any of the following agencies:

Transcript Research
All costs associated with the international credit evaluation are the responsibility of the student. The University reserves the right to make its own determination on the amount and type of credit to be awarded based on the evaluations provide by these agencies. Students may select one of the evaluations prepared on their behalf by one of the agencies identified above. There will be no mixing and matching of evaluations. Only courses with a grade of C or better, or “Pass” for pass/fail courses will be accepted in transfer.
