The Master of Science (M.S.) degree program with an area of study in Aviation Management is designed to prepare students for new careers in aviation management as well working professionals to transition from the practical or technical side of aviation into a management role. The 36-credit program is offered completely online and can be completed in less than two years on a part-time basis and without the need for students to sacrifice their professional and personal responsibilities.

The program provides a strong foundation with the core curriculum providing advanced learning in the modern tools of management, leadership, and for applied science and technology. Students will also gain skills in Aviation Management, including Air Carrier Operations, Aviation Economics, Data Analytics, Aviation Safety and Security, Human Resources and Labor Relations, and Airport Management and Operations. Students can choose five courses in the Aviation Management area.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Aviation Management area of study, graduates will be able to:

  • employ the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools appropriate for managers and leaders in the aviation industry;
  • apply best practices and technologies to maintain industry-wide safety standards;
  • assess and analyze data to optimize performance both in the air and on the ground with airline and airport operations;
  • develop security practices, both practical and cybersecurity, to contain threats to the aviation industry and mitigate future occurrences;
  • integrate economic and fiscal management practices within airline and airport operations; and
  • analyze the role of management practice within airline and airport operation.
