SF-1200 Quantum Reality, Information, and Computing
Quantum theory and quantum computation occupy a central place in contemporary science, yet they are often introduced only after extensive preparation in mathematics and advanced science. This seminar adopts an alternative pedagogical approach, presenting foundational concepts in quantum computing to students with only a background in basic arithmetic. Designed for first-year students from any academic background, the course introduces key principles of quantum computer science and technology through a conceptual and exploratory framework. Students will appreciate how quantum computing is being integrated with AI tools, understand its impact on society, engage in hands-on work with quantum circuits and algorithms, and develop an understanding of how these abstract ideas are implemented in practice
