5.6 Lost and Found

Purpose: To promote consistency, efficiency and effectiveness in the handling and processing of all campus lost and found items.

Part 1: Reporting of a Lost Item.

Reports of lost items should be directed to the campus Lost and Found located at Kopp Central in the Kopp Student Center. A record of reported items is maintained.

Part 2: Processing and Handling of Found Items

Found items should be brought to Kopp Central in the Kopp Student Center. Items are recorded, labeled and secured and an effort made to identify the owner. People claiming items will be required to present a photo ID and sign for the item.

Part 3: Unclaimed Found Items

Items that are unclaimed after a three-month period will be disposed of as follows:

  1. Unclaimed items in good condition will be donated to charity.
  2. Unclaimed items in poor condition will be thrown away or recycled.
  3. Unclaimed cash will be deposited in an account to be used as emergency funding for students unable to afford a Bus Pass.
