HIS 4390 HISTORY OF THE CIVIL WAR

This course will examine the causes, conduct, and the Aftermath of the American Civil War. Its focus will include diplomatic, strategic, economic, cultural, and military considerations influencing the conduct of the war. Course also includes a weapons demonstration, excerpts from Ken Burns' award-winning PBS series, and a walking tour of the Military Academy to emphasize the contributions of West Point graduates during the conflict. Course seeks to enrich your understanding of the military and social aspects of the defining event in American history.
