REL 2130 EASTERN THOUGHT

This course will study several oriental systems. Emphasis will be given to questions such as the nature of reality, the meaning of human existence and how the human mind functions. There will be a special emphasis on at least two of the following: Tao, Logic systems, and Buddhist thought, since these not only have serious philosophical and religious significance but also serve as critiques of the limitations in Western empiricism and pragmatism.
