NUR 4020 COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING

Nursing courses marked with * include a clinical laboratory experience that requires at least a minimally safe level of performance. Clinical calculations proficiency is also required. The division reserves the right to implement a policy on disciplinary action if so warranted. This course focuses on the application of the nursing process to community-as- client, and to individuals and families receiving health care in their homes or through other community-based programs. There is emphasis on the cognates upon which public/community health practice is based: epidemiology, demography, political processes, health organizations, and ecology. Nursing process and Gordon's Functional Health Patterns are the basis for clinical decision making.
