The class studies the history of the Industrial Revolution in England. Topics, which will be analyzed, include: medieval and early modern agriculture and industry, British politics in the 17th and 18th centuries, the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment, the Agricultural Revolution, capital formation and banking, evolving economic theory, mechanization and innovation, labor supply and conditions, and changes in English society.
