BIO 4050 DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY

This course studies the morphological, physiological and biochemical bases of animal development from the fertilized egg. Lectures emphasize molecular biology and genetics in understanding morphogenesis and differentiation. Laboratory study includes a morphological study of ontogeny in model organisms such as sea urchins, amphibians and chickens. In addition, students use inquiry-based collaboration to experimentally investigate and report development in selected species.
