COR 3770 Reckonings with the American Dream

Drawing upon scholarly work in philosophy, cultural studies, rhetorical criticism, critical race theory, and more, this course will have students confront many ethical sites that haunt our contemporary American culture. These confrontations demand that students cultivate a critical mindset for interrogating American legacies of racial injustices, colonization,  queer erasure, institutional pains, and potential sites or rebirth. Through the production of a final Ethical Intervention project, students will contend with how and to what extent we are able to engage in ethical and civic recoveries rooted in social justice.
