ETH 2780 Christian Social Ethics

This course surveys the origins and foundations of Christian social ethics, and examines its interaction with contemporary social ethical issues. The course first reviews how the biblical and early Christian traditions addressed various social ethical problems of the time. Then the course studies the recent development of Catholic and/or Protestant social ethics in the modern world, and explores how these sources address selected issues in current political, economic, ecological and social life.
