SOC 2350 Juvenile Delinquency

(formerly SOC 235; SOC 135; Crime and Delinquency)

This course centers on the nature of juvenile delinquency, including a discussion of the major theories and prevalent factors that contribute to an understanding of delinquency. In addition, emphasis is placed on society's reaction to youth crime and violence, and the various institutions and aftercare facilities that serve delinquents. Finally, attention is also placed on various prevention techniques and services.
