MAT 3240 History and Philosophy of Mathematics

(also PHI 3240; formerly MAT/PHI 324; MAT/PHI 227)

A study of the contributions made by various individuals and cultures to the growth and development of ancient, modern and current mathematical topics. The approach to the course will be both chronological and topical.
