LGL 2130 Concepts of Insurance Law

(formerly LGL 213)

This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to and understanding of concepts in insurance law, risk and risk management. This course covers the different functions within the insurance industry, insurance company operations and regulation, and risk transfer. Consideration is given to personal insurance (including homeowners’ property and liability insurance) as well as personal auto insurance, life insurance, and health insurance. Commercial property and liability insurance concepts are also introduced. An overview of reinsurance law is included.
