PSY 5051 Survey of Lifespan Development

This course is intended to an overview of development from the major theoretical perspectives. The course integrates classic theory addressing physical, cognitive, emotional, social and cultural aspects of each stage of development. Current theory and research will be reviewed with an eye toward historical, social, and cultural context as well as application. Conceptual information is organized and its meaning is constructed from the investigation of contemporary research contributions. Case studies enable studies to view theory from an applied perspective.
