MUSC 232 World Music
This course provides an introduction to the musical traditions of a number of world cultures. We will examine the music of India, the Middle East, China, Japan, Indonesia Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean and North America (including Native American music). In each culture studied, students will learn not only to appreciate different styles of world music aesthetically as listeners, but to understand the role that such music plays in its own culture.
