PSYC 313 Sensation & Perception

This course presents the physiological and cognitive basis for the study of sensation and perception in humans. Topics of investigation include (but are will not limited to) the visual, auditory, haptic, gustatory, and olfactory senses. Philosophical discourse regarding differences between perception and sensation will be analyzed. The neurophysiological pathways for these sensory and perceptual systems will be covered. Laboratory exercises for the various systems will include sensory stimuli application, perceptual recording methods, and other techniques used to understand sensation and perceptual processes.
