MUSC 111 Music Theory I

An introduction to the basic principles of harmony in tonal music. This course begins with a brief review of pitch, rhythm, meter, scales, key signatures, intervals and triads and then continues with a thorough study of diatonic harmony through Roman numeral analysis and part-writing. Intended for students who already have a solid foundation in music fundamentals.
