LPN to RN: Associate of Science

In order to be accepted into the LPN to RN track of the Associate of Science in Nursing program, applicants must hold a current, valid credential as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and meet the Application Requirements for All Programs, the General Admission Criteria for All Programs, and the program-specific criteria and requirements listed below.

Requirements are dependent upon the applicant's level of education, as outlined below. Applicants who are Licensed Practical Nurses are not required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) for acceptance or course placement.

To be eligible for advanced placement, the applicant must have graduated from another regionally accredited, post-secondary institution, pre-licensure program recognized by the Department of Higher Education, and be a board of nursing fully approved program. Proof of a current, valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required.

  • Hold a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. The Department of Admissions will verify this through your state licensing agency.

Accepted students may receive a My Academic Plan (MAP) and are required to meet with their assigned academic advisor at least two weeks before beginning their first semester.
