General Requirements for All bachelor's degrees •A minimum of 120 credit hours earned with a minimum of 30 credit hours completed at JU. •A minimum of a "C" (2.0) average for all work taken at JU. •A student must satisfy all requirements of the University Core Curriculum in addition to all major and degree requirements. •A student is responsible for meeting the specific graduation requirements of the selected major and degree. A student who pursues more than one major must meet all degree requirements for each major. •A student must have at least a "C" (2.0) average in the major. •At least 12 credit hours in the major in courses numbered 300 or above must be completed at JU. •A minimum of forty-two credit hours must be in courses numbered 300 or above. •At least one each of an upper-level Writing-Intensive and Speech-Intensive course (designated with a “WI” or “SI” in the course number; may be satisfied by courses already required for major). •At least 3 credit hours in Experiential Learning (defined as Undergraduate Research, Research Intensive with “RI” designation, Internship, Study Abroad, or Service Learning; may be satisfied by courses already required for major). NOTES – Dance Program Requirements:

 

1) All students wishing to major in dance must successfully complete an audition and admittance into the program before declaring either dance degree.

2) All dance majors are required to register for a minimum two (2) technique classes each semester until technique requirements are fulfilled.

3) All dance majors are required to fulfill the College of Fine Arts sophomore review requirement before completion of 64 credit hours.

4) The University speech-intensive requirement will be fulfilled by completion of DANC 335SI.

5) The University writing--intensive & research-intensive requirement will be fulfilled by completion of DANC 420RW.

6) All students wishing to enroll in dance technique classes above the 100-level must have fulfilled the prerequisites, attended a placement class, or receive permission from the instructor.

7) All dance majors participating in a Dance Concert are required to register for a minimum of one technique course that corresponding semester and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA

8) Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates must complete two semesters of all technique courses at the highest level.
