Public Policy Minor

The Jacksonville University Public Policy Institute offers a minor in public policy to prepare students for career paths in public, private and non-profit sectors and for graduate studies in public policy and other disciplines. The public policy minor includes two required courses (six credit hours) and three elective courses (nine credit hours).

NOTE:

Credit received for POL 420 (three credit hours) and one other approved minor in Public Policy course (three credit hours) may count toward the student’s declared major and the Public Policy minor. For all other courses, credit may be applied to only the major OR the Public Policy minor.

PPOL 511, PPOL 512, PPOL 513, PPOL 651, and PPOL 661 are graduate-level courses. These courses are part of the Public Policy Institute’s (Institute) Grad2Grad Program.  The Institute’s Grad2Grad program enables seniors, and students minoring in public policy, to take select PPOL courses offered by the Institute’s Master in Public Policy (MPP) program.  The credits earned in these courses (up to six (6) credits) will be applied toward the student’s undergraduate degree requirements.  If the student then pursues an MPP degree at Jacksonville University, those credits will also be applied to their MPP degree.
