ENGL 305 Survey of Literary Theory

Introduction to the most important schools of literary interpretation.  Possible areas of study include Russian formalism, New Criticism, deconstruction, psychoanalysis, feminist theory, LGBTQ+ theory, postcolonial theory, cultural studies, critical race theory, posthumanist theory etc. Students will hone skills in literary interpretation through analysis, writing, and the development of a lexicon related to these skills.  Prerequisite ENGL 103, minimum grade C-.
