ENGL 305 Survey of Literary Theory
This course provides an introduction to the most important schools of literary interpretation. of Possible areas of study include Russian formalism, New Criticism, deconstruction, psychoanalysis, feminist theory, LGBTQ+ theory, postcolonial theory, cultural studies, critical race theory, posthumanist theory etc. Students will hone skills in literary interpretation through analysis, writing, and the development of a lexicon related to these skills. Prerequisite ENGL 103, minimum grade C-.
