Master of Science in Marine Studies

Program Requirements

Requirements for the MS degree in Marine Studies:

• Four-course core: MSC 501, MSC 502, MSC 503, and MSC 504
• A total of 30 semester hours graduate-level work (500 or above) with approval of the student’s graduate advisor.
• Courses may be completed in an online or in-person setting, or a combination of both.
• A 6 credit hour sequence taken as MSC 697: Capstone in Marine Studies I and MSC 698: Capstone in Marine Studies II with the completion of a original capstone research project
including a paper and oral presentation.
• A written comprehensive examination to be taken at the completion of all degree coursework.
