Bachelor of Science in Data Science

The Departments of Mathematics and Computing Science offer a major in Data Science. The Data Science major prepares students to deal with the complexities of modern data analysis by incorporating a strong emphasis on computation and statistics and delivering an applied, project-based curriculum to students starting from the freshmen year

Required Courses

Students pursuing a degree in data science must complete the following required courses in Mathematics (MATH) and Computing Science (CS), one relevant upper-level MATH or CS elective, and a minor in a discipline outside of the Mathematics and Computing Sciences departments. A minimum grade of “C” is required in any course used as a prerequisite for these courses.
