MKG 420 Category Management Practicum

This course will allow students to gain highly valuable skills by doing similar work that is performed by entry-level leadership candidates. Students will work with executives from local businesses to build actual category plans for these companies. Students will work with company databases and analytics systems using syndicated data programs such as AC Nielsen and IRI. Students will work alongside executives from partner companies who will coach them on the basics of products and systems. Students will be exposed to the selling side and the merchandising side of there tail industry by developing a category selling plan in the first half of the semester and a category plan in the second half of the semester.
